Rochester, MN Route Manager Job Description:

Schedule:
– Monday thru Saturday, split shift schedule, approximately 40 hours per week.
– Home nightly.
– Morning shift starts in Rochester at 4:30 a.m. and ends around 8:00 a.m. Afternoon shift starts at 2:00 p.m. and ends back in Rochester by 5:15 p.m.

Job Duties:
– Ensuring all contracted routes are covered by drivers for all scheduled route times and ensuring all mail is picked up from and delivered to all contracted dock locations within scheduled contract times and every scheduled day of the route.
– Manage the driver pool operating on the Rochester routes.
– Monitor driver compliance regarding safety regulations and company policies.
– Make at minimum of weekly inspections of all on site company trucks and automobiles communicating any problems, concerns, and upcoming maintenance with the company mechanic.

Qualifications:
– Education- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in logistics and/or management, and/or 5+ years related transportation management experience.
– 5+ years commercial driving experience.
– Required: Valid U.S. Drivers License, DOT Medical Card
– Preferred: Commercial Class B driver’s license, DOT medical card.
– Ability to pass a federal background check for access to US Mail and authorization to work in the U.S.
– Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
– Ability to lift 75 pounds (occasionally).
– Located within 30 minutes commute time to the Rochester, MN main post office.

Compensation:
– $50,000 annual plus benefits.

Recruitment & Retention Specialist

The Recruitment & Retention Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and training qualified drivers. This role also includes compliance management, employee engagement, and retention strategies to maintain a strong and motivated workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Sourcing:
  • Identify and attract qualified driver candidates through job boards, social media, community outreach, and job fairs.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates.
  • Collaborate with management to determine hiring needs and priorities.
  • Screening & Interviewing:
  • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications and cultural fit. 
  • Verify employment history, qualifications, and background checks.
  • Coordinate with management and drivers to schedule and help conduct second interviews. 
  • Manage pre-employment requirements (drug testing, MVR checks, etc.).
  • Onboarding & Training:
  • Facilitate new driver orientation and training programs.
  • Ensure all new hires are informed of the parameters of the job, company policies, procedures, safety regulations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Ensure all hiring and employment practices comply with DOT, DOL, FMCSA, and USPS regulations.
  • Maintain driver qualification files and ensure regulatory documentation is up to date.
  • Monitor and track compliance reports, including MVRs and medical certifications.
  • Retention & Engagement:
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance driver retention and engagement.
  • Address employee concerns and provide support to foster a positive work environment.
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to improve company culture and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience in recruitment and hiring (preferably in the transportation industry)
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem solving, decision making, and
    interpersonal skills
  • Confidential and professional conduct
  • Proficient in the use of various database and word processing programs
  • Ability to schedule and perform tasks without supervision
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in HR, sales, or compliance
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, DOL, and USPS regulations
  • Degree in Psychology, Business, Human Resources, or Communication

Compensation & Benefits:
– Pay $23-28 per hour, based on experience
– Retirement 401(k) employer contribution of 15% of wages

Full Time Rochester – Mabel, MN Route Driver &
Full Time Rochester, MN Rotating Route Driver

Schedule:
–  Monday thru Saturday, split shift schedule, approximately 34 hours per week.
–  Home nightly.
–  Morning shift starts in Rochester around 4:30 a.m. and ends in Mabel at 7:40 a.m.
– Afternoon shift starts in Mabel around 2 p.m. and ends in Rochester by 5 p.m.
– For rotating Route Driver Position, the layover towns include Winona, Rose Creek, Hokah, Rushford, Mabel, and Ostrander.
– Four Sundays during peak season (Nov. 1 – Jan. 3).
–  Early advance also available, Monday’s only, 2-5 a.m., 3 hours per week.
– Relay car in layover town available for use during layover.

Compensation:
– Competitive pay starting at $26.28/hour ($24.58 + 1.70 benefit), approximately $45,000-$54,000 annually.
– Monday early morning advance run, $3,670 annually. – Benefits include indemnity insurance, 401(k) retirement, paid holidays, paid vacation after one year of employment – Bonuses include daily shuttle car fuel stipend ($10/day), sign-on bonus after 90 days of satisfactory employment, and referral bonuses.

Substitute & On Call Rochester, MN and La Crosse, WI Route Drivers

–  Routes depart from the Rochester, MN main postal distribution facility and delivers to the Winona, Rose Creek, Ostrander, Hokah, Mabel and Rushford, MN area Post Offices.  
–  Routes depart from the La Crosse, WI main postal distribution facility and deliver to the Millston, Norwalk, Seneca, Taylor, Arcadia, Alma, Ft. McCoy, and Tomah, WI area Post Offices.  
–  Split shift schedule.  Routes start in Rochester around 4:30 am and end in various layover towns around 7:40 am, then start again around noon or 2 pm ending in Rochester around 5 pm. Routes start in La Crosse around 4 am and end in layover towns by 7:45 am, then start again around noon and end by 3pm in La Crosse.
–  Home nightly.
–  Early advance also available, Monday’s only 2-5 a.m. and 12-4 a.m.
–  Monday through Saturday work week.  Days and hours vary.  Substitute drivers cover time off and days off for the regular route drivers.
– Competitive pay starting at $23-25/hour, increasing with experience and employee longevity.

Job Requirements for all drivers:
–  Valid U.S. driver’s license (CDL or non-CDL)
–  Ability to pass a DOT medical card physical and drug test
–  Ability to pass a federal background check for access to US Mail and have Authorization to work in the US
–  Ability to lift 75 lbs (occasionally)
–  Driver will operate Proksch Transit owned equipment- box trucks.
–  Driver must maintain schedule and arrive on time daily.
–  Driver must inspect the truck before, during, and after the trips.  Notify company mechanic of any problems.
–  Complete job daily within guidelines of company procedures and policies, as well as federal and state regulations of operating motor vehicles.
